Exactal was established in October 2003 to develop estimating software for the construction industry and, more specifically, to integrate the estimating process with CAD drawing files. Although there were a few suppliers in this field at the time, our approach differed from others by the way we directly tied measurements to the elements in the CAD drawings. This approach allowed us to deliver unique bi-directional links between the estimate and the sections of the drawing represented; the resulting product was called CostX®. The unique combination of these two elements has also been trademarked by Exactal as the Cost Geometry® of the building.
CostX® is now in wide spread use amongst estimating, development, construction and sub-contracting firms including the majority of large quantity surveying firms in Australia and New Zealand. From its first Australian release in July 2004, CostX® sales have grown world-wide and it is now sold and supported in over 40 countries including the UK, Ireland, USA, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, New Zealand and across Africa.
Exactal has also continued to expand and in January of 2008 the company established Exactal Europe Ltd based in the UK to support the growing worldwide sales of the CostX® product. This was followed in December 2008 by the establishment of Exactal Pacific Ltd based in Auckland to provide direct sales and support for the New Zealand market and in September 2010 with the establishment of Exactal Asia Ltd based in Hong Kong. Most recently, the second Australian office (in Melbourne) was established in March 2012 and Exactal Singapore was opened in April 2012.
Our continuing growth in providing direct sales, as well as a strong communication channel through our resellers, provides a direct link to our customer base that allows instant feedback in regards to our product strategy. Through our regional offices, and Quantity Surveying staff in each location, Exactal provides direct access to a qualified professional for 19 hours out of every day.
Exactal will continue to grow its market share around the world as we build our worldwide operations and continue to invest heavily in the further development of our CostX® line of products.
