Exactal was established in October 2003 to develop software specifically for the quantity surveying and estimating market and more specifically the integration between CAD and estimating. Although there were a few suppliers in this field at the time, the Exactal approach differed from them by the way it directly tied to the elements in the CAD drawings. This approach allowed us to deliver unique bi-directional links between the estimate and the sections of the drawing that estimate represented. The resulting product was called CostX^® and was officially launched in July 2004.

CostX^® is now in use by the majority of large quantity surveying firms in Australia as well as in wide spread usage amongst development, construction and sub-contracting firms. Continuing to enhance its lead in the market, the product has grown in functionality including full multi-user capabilities allowing multiple people to work on the same data simultaneously. Exactal's market has also grown world-wide and CostX^®; is now sold and supported in the UK, Ireland, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, Cyprus, New Zealand and across Africa.

In January of this year Exactal, established Exactal Europe Limited based in the UK to support its growing European sales base. Through our local staff in the region, Exactal will expand and support its existing resellers and continue to expand its European presence as it moves towards release of its multi-lingual version of CostX^® later this year.
